Three Arrested Following Stabbing Death of Young Man in Hackney
A 20-year-old man was fatally stabbed in Hackney, leading to multiple arrests as police launch a murder investigation.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 20-year-old man in Hackney, London.
The victim, identified as Mr. Romeo, succumbed to his injuries despite efforts from paramedics from the London Ambulance Service, who pronounced him dead at the scene.
The Metropolitan Police have reported a rapidly progressing murder investigation, with two 21-year-old men and one 22-year-old man currently in custody on suspicion of murder.
This follows earlier arrests of two other men, aged 23 and 25, who were initially detained on suspicion of murder.
These individuals were later released without further action but were subsequently arrested again over possession with intent to supply Class B cannabis, and have since been bailed pending further inquiries.
Friends and family of Mr. Romeo have expressed their grief and shock over the incident.
A family friend described him as “vulnerable,” recounting their last interaction just hours before his death.
She expressed her disbelief and sorrow, stating, “What did he do to be dead?”
Another friend, who had known Mr. Romeo for much of his life, referred to him as “like a brother” and highlighted his good nature, saying, “He was a good kid, he didn’t deserve it.”
Detective Superintendent Kelly Allen, who is leading the investigation, commended the public for their support following an appeal for information.
She reiterated the commitment of law enforcement to achieve justice for the victim and his family, urging anyone with knowledge pertaining to the case to step forward.
The police are particularly interested in identifying two men believed to have been in the vicinity at the time of Mr. Romeo’s death.
