Caroline Ellison Sentenced to Two Years for Role in FTX Fraud
Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, was sentenced to two years in prison for her involvement in the FTX cryptocurrency fraud case. Ellison cooperated with prosecutors and testified against her ex-boyfriend, FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried, leading to her lighter sentence. Bankman-Fried was sentenced to 25 years for one of the largest financial frauds in history.

During the trial, Ellison revealed that FTX misused customer funds for risky ventures, real estate purchases, and political donations before collapsing in November 2022 with over eight billion dollars in debt.
