Big banks, oil companies, and tech firms were among the 500+ lobbyists and executives at Labour’s largest business event, paying one dollar three thousand per ticket for access to ministers.
Keir Starmer was introduced by HSBC's CEO and interviewed by Google's UK chief, encouraging businesses to approach No 10 directly.
The one dollar three thousand-a-head event, sponsored by firms like Heathrow Airport and HSBC, was more transparent than previous years, featuring interactive sessions with Starmer, Reeves, and Jonathan Reynolds.
However, many attendees expressed concerns over tax changes, new workers' rights legislation, and limited one-on-one opportunities with ministers.
Attendance doubled from last year, with more than 100 executives from companies including Uber, ExxonMobil, Shell, Blackstone, Citi Group, and JP Morgan Europe.
Key topics included industrial strategy, taxation, and workers’ rights, with promises of future announcements and ongoing collaboration with the business sector.
