Reform UK's conference voted to give members more control over policies and leadership. Nigel Farage signed the new constitution, making the party a not-for-profit organization with enhanced member participation. The new rules allow members to influence policies and remove the leader through a no-confidence vote.
Reform UK's conference in Birmingham saw the approval of a new constitution giving members more control over the party’s policies and leadership.
Party leader
Nigel Farage signed the document on stage after the vote was passed by a show of hands.
Reform UK, founded as a private limited company with Farage holding the majority of shares, won 14% of the vote in July's general election and has five MPs, including Farage.
The new constitution, now making the party a not-for-profit governed by a rulebook with no shareholders, allows members to influence policies and remove the leader through a no-confidence vote.
Party chairman Zia Yusuf facilitated the vote, with only a few opposing.
These amendments mark a significant move towards making Reform UK more professional and member-driven.
