Who is the top earning young influencer on YouTube?

The UK’s highest-earning YouTube influencer makes over £3.75million a year from the platform, new research has revealed.

Buddle Nurseries Group has analysed 10 of the UK’s most popular YouTube stars aged 17 and under, with 16-year-old Thomas Simons – known as TommyInnit – coming out on top.

He is estimated to earn £313,000 a month sharing his gaming skills on his YouTube channel, which has 7.84 million subscribers.

Thomas also keeps his 2.3m followers updated on Instagram, sharing a recent picture with fellow YouTube star and rapper KSI.

In second place are sisters Ruby, 15 and her six-year-old sibling Bonnie who – along with their family – play games and make entertainment videos for kids. They are estimated to earn £204,000 a month, which works out at about £2.45million over a year.

Siblings Gaby, six, and Alex, seven, are third with a predicted £161,000 a month in earnings. The pair’s channel has the most subscribers on the list – 17 million – and they use their platform to teach kindness to children.


EthanGamer, 14, best known for play Roblox on his channel, is in fourth place with £114,000 a month with YouTuber Emily Cozmuic, who plays with the latest kids’ toys, rounding out the top five with an approximated £100,000 a month from her channel MoreEmilyTube. Emily, seven, has 5.18 million subscribers on the platform.

Collectively the top ten ‘kidfluencers’ have a combined subscriber count of 57,824,000, more than the entire population of England, and together they have racked up a massive 19.18 billion video views.


A spokesperson for Buddle Nurseries said: “It’s fascinating to see how lucrative a YouTube channel can be, when it’s seemingly so easy and simple to set up. But with more children than ever dreaming of becoming an influencer, it’s important to remember that very few can actually make a living out of it – and even fewer will become rich.
