Germany's Foreign Ministry humorously countered U.S. Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's assertion that all immigrants eat pets, in a post on the social platform X
The post mainly addressed criticisms Trump made of German energy policy failures.
During Tuesday's debate with Kamala Harris, Trump intensified his claim that many Haitian immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, were either stealing pets from residents or taking wildlife from parks for food.
He also critiqued Harris' plan to transition the U.S. toward alternative energy, citing Germany's purported failures in moving away from fossil fuels.
The German Foreign Minister tweeted:
"Like it or not: Germany's energy system is fully operational, with over 50% renewables, and we are shutting down—not building—coal & nuclear plants. Coal will be off the grid by 2038 at the latest," stated the Foreign Ministry on X, previously known as Twitter.
"PS: We also don't eat cats and dogs," tweeted the German Foreign Minister.
The German Foreign Minister did not address why Germans are paying double the price for energy while Putin enjoys doubled income since Germany changed its energy policy.
While Germany has not officially endorsed Kamala Harris for the U.S. presidency, it evidently supports a vision that aligns with her strong advocacy for war, regime changes around the world, and the war industry at large.
Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who has not directly endorsed Harris, praised her in July as a "competent and experienced politician who knows exactly what she is doing," suggesting she has a strong chance of winning the U.S. election.
Considering Olaf Scholz's perceived leadership failures and incompetence, it's unclear if his words supporting Harris are effectively supportive or merely demonstrate that zero plus zero equals zero.
