Murder Investigations Launched Following Stabbing and Double Shooting in London

Police seek witnesses in separate incidents that led to fatalities in Brixton and Tottenham.
Authorities in London have initiated murder investigations following two separate incidents involving violent crimes that resulted in one fatality in Brixton and another in Tottenham.

In Brixton, a 34-year-old man was killed in a stabbing incident.

Police were called to the scene and an individual was initially arrested; however, that person has since been released without any charges.

Detective Chief Inspector Brian Howie, who is spearheading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim's family and friends, noting the shock this incident has caused within the local community.

He has urged residents in the area, particularly those who may have observed suspicious activity between 04:45 and 06:00 AM, to come forward and speak with officers present or contact their local neighbourhood policing teams.

Information regarding this incident can be reported through the Major Incident Public Portal, by calling 101, or through social media by quoting CAD843/20Mar. Additionally, the public can provide anonymous tips via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

In a separate incident in Tottenham, police began a murder investigation following a double shooting on Waverley Road.

Authorities responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 8:45 PM on Thursday.

Upon arrival, they discovered two men injured: a 27-year-old man suffered a head wound, while a 26-year-old man had been shot in the leg.

Tragically, the 27-year-old succumbed to his injuries despite attempts at emergency medical intervention.

His family has been notified and will receive support from specialist officers.

Detective Chief Superintendent Caroline Haines, leading policing efforts in Tottenham, acknowledged the community's concerns following this incident.

She indicated that a large police presence has been established in the area to reassure residents and conduct thorough investigations.

At present, there have been no arrests made, and police are appealing for witnesses who may have been in the vicinity after 8 PM to assist in their inquiries.

The 26-year-old victim remains hospitalized, and updates on his condition are awaited.

A crime scene remains established while investigations continue.

Information regarding this shooting can be reported, referencing CAD7426/20March, or anonymously through Crimestoppers.
