And there are a few ways to achieve a well-lit entry, no matter what size and design preferences you're working with. Ahead, discover ten designer-approved entryway lighting ideas, from minimalist recessed lights to chic sconces and classic chandeliers.



Double Sconces


You don't have to hang an over-the-top chandelier to make a statement with lighting in your entryway. Interior designer Tamsin Johnson flanked a shapely mirror with modern, eye-catching sconces to embolden the marble console table and vase display.



Spherical Pendant


The circle motif of the bronze pendant speaks to the rounded table and soft curves of the accent chair in this space designed by Heather Hilliard. The warm tones bring in a nice contrast to the cobalt pieces.

In a casual, sweet entryway like this one, opt for a whimsical and bold light fixture that features a unique shape, colors, or material. But keep it quirky, not fancy, so it doesn't look overly formal in a more laidback space.

Flush Mount


A flush mount won't take up as much vertical real estate as a low-hanging pendant or chandelier, but does add a bit more dimension and allure than recessed lights. Interior designer Heidi Caillier painted the base of the flush mount the same color as the walls for a consistent look and then added a contrasting table lamp for extra light and flair.
