Travis Merrill, a 51-year-old man, has been charged with the murder of his co-worker Tamhara Collazo at Allegiance Trucks.
The incident, reportedly sparked by Merrill's obsession and anger over Collazo's long work breaks, occurred at her desk.
Allegiance Trucks is situated near the temporary headquarters of the Lewisville Police Department, enabling officers to respond quickly.
Despite their efforts, Collazo succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
An arrest warrant revealed Merrill's growing frustration with Collazo's breaks and lack of attention towards him, which she had reported to HR.
This led to Merrill's mandatory counseling.
After returning to work, Merrill's anger intensified upon Collazo's avoidance.
He admitted to acquiring guns, practising with them, and even bringing them to work.
On the day of the attack, Merrill followed her during lunch, retrieved two revolvers, and shot her multiple times at her cubicle.
