Pro‑Palestinian protesters faced off with police in central London’s Trafalgar Square after a planned protest by Palestine Action was banned near Parliament.

Officers detained several individuals as the crowd expanded beyond its three‑hour permitted window and disrupted traffic.

The unrest followed the government’s plan to label the group a terrorist outfit, a designation requiring parliamentary approval and punishable by up to 14 years in prison for members.
