UK Braces for Continued Flooding Amidst New Rain Warnings
The UK is set to experience further flooding as new weather warnings for rain have been issued by the Met Office. By Tuesday morning, some areas may receive up to a month's worth of rain, resulting in 60-80mm of rainfall on already saturated ground. Relief is expected midweek, but another Atlantic low pressure system is forecast to bring more rain by the weekend.
The UK is set to experience further flooding as new weather warnings for rain have been issued by the Met Office.
These warnings cover parts of northern and eastern England, as well as north Wales.
By Tuesday morning, some areas may receive up to a month's worth of rain, resulting in 60-80mm (2.5-3in) of rainfall on already saturated ground.
This could lead to additional localized flooding, travel disruptions, and power outages.
Midlands and south-west England are currently under numerous flood warnings following a particularly wet September, with locations like Woburn in Bedfordshire already receiving over 420mm (16in) of rain this month.
River catchments experiencing flooding include the River Axe in Devon, the Ouzel in Buckinghamshire, and the Great Ouse in Cambridgeshire.
Relief is expected midweek when high pressure brings drier weather, although another low-pressure system from the Atlantic is forecast to bring more rain by the weekend.
