The UK Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, has confirmed that the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, will not face an investigation over allegations that she broke the ministerial code by involving civil servants in a bid to avoid a public speed awareness course.
Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has determined that no formal probe is necessary.
However,
Johnson has warned Braverman that "a better course of action could have been taken to avoid giving rise to the perception of impropriety." The incident occurred when Braverman was caught speeding while she was Attorney General.
She paid the fine and took the penalty points on her license.
