Rioting has spread across German cities, with shops looted and barricades set alight. In Berlin, 120 rioters clashed with police using Molotov cocktails.
Frankfurt am Main also suffered damage to shops. Hessian Interior Minister Roman Posek said 17 shops were damaged and five were looted during the unrest.
The incidents involved both confrontations with police and damage to commercial premises. The figures describe different aspects of the disorder: the number of rioters involved in Berlin and the toll on shops in Frankfurt.
