Rachel Kyte, the UK's newly appointed climate envoy, will maintain her position on the board of the Quadrature Climate Foundation, despite its founders' investments in fossil fuels and sizeable donations to the Labour party.
Kyte has a longstanding reputation for her climate and development work, serving on the charity's climate advisory board, and is also a professor at Oxford University.
Her role as special representative on climate at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) involves high-level diplomacy to combat the global climate crisis.
Notable figures such as Christiana Figueres and Laurence Tubiana have supported her appointment.
The FCDO stated that Kyte's appointment went through full due diligence to ensure no conflicts of interest.
The Quadrature Climate Foundation, set up by financiers Greg Skinner and Suneil Setiya, operates independently from Quadrature Capital and focuses on funding science-led climate solutions.
