Police Announce £10,000 Reward for Information on Missing Islington Boy
Alexander Sloley has been missing since August 2008, prompting renewed appeals for information.
London's Metropolitan Police have offered a £10,000 reward for information regarding the whereabouts of Alexander Sloley, a teenager who has been missing since August 2008. At the time of his disappearance, Alexander was 16 years old and living in Islington, north London.
According to police reports, he had limited financial means and was not found with any belongings that suggested he had plans to run away.
Described as a light-skinned black male, Alexander stood at approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and had a medium build, with striking blue eyes.
His case has been classified as an active missing person investigation, with regular reviews conducted by senior officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarb Kaur, who is overseeing the investigation, emphasized the ongoing efforts to locate Alexander and provide support to his family.
On August 8, 2008, Alexander was reported missing, and authorities have since conducted extensive inquiries in hopes of finding him.
In a recent statement, Detective Chief Inspector Kaur remarked on the emotional toll the long duration of his absence has had on his family, particularly on his mother, Nerissa Tivy, who has expressed her desire for closure and the hope of reuniting with her son.
In 2019, as part of the investigation's reopening, police released an electronic image (e-fit) depicting how Alexander might look now at the age of 27. This initiative was aimed at generating new leads in the case.
The appeal to re-interview individuals previously questioned in connection with the case was also undertaken, revealing no evidence of harm or links to other cases.
Detective Constable Tom Boon stated in 2019 that there remains a hope that Alexander is safe and has simply managed to avoid detection by not using bank accounts or passports.
As of now, police are urging anyone with relevant information about Alexander Sloley's disappearance to contact them directly at 07860 369603 or through Crimestoppers, emphasizing that even seemingly insignificant details could assist the investigation.
