A private Learjet 60 carrying nine people crashed and exploded near passing traffic in West Palm Beach, Florida, on 1 November, with the impact captured by a dashboard camera.

The aircraft had departed from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas and was bound for the Bahamas. Footage captured its nose-first descent at Military Trail, between 10th Avenue North and Cresthaven Boulevard, and the explosion on impact as vehicles passed nearby.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office immediately closed the road to all traffic. Emergency responders attended, and the Federal Aviation Administration launched an investigation into the crash.

The cause of the aircraft’s descent and the condition of the nine people on board remain unclear. No information about injuries to people on the ground was included in the initial details.
