King Charles thanks public for support after cancer diagnosis

King Charles has expressed deep gratitude for the public's support following his cancer diagnosis.
The 75-year-old King acknowledged the comfort that such kindness provides to those affected by cancer.

Buckingham Palace released news of his condition, confirming that the cancer is not related to his prostate, despite treatment for an enlarged prostate in January. The specific type of cancer has not been made public.

The King reflected on the positive impact of sharing his diagnosis, highlighting the increased awareness and appreciation for organizations aiding cancer patients and their loved ones.

Presently, King Charles has paused his public responsibilities to focus on his treatment, with senior royals like Queen Camilla and Prince of Wales temporarily assuming his roles.

He recently relocated to Sandringham, his Norfolk estate, with Queen Camilla after receiving a visit from his younger son, the Duke of Sussex. The Duke made the journey from the US.

The Queen remarked on how moved the King has been by the numerous well-wishes received. At a Salisbury Cathedral event, she commented on the uplifting nature of this support.

Prince William also expressed thanks for the support directed toward both his father and his wife, the Princess of Wales, who is recuperating from an abdominal surgery and is not expected to resume duties until post-Easter.

During a fundraiser for London's Air Ambulance, attended by, among other notable attendees, actor Tom Cruise, Prince William acknowledged the significance of the encouraging words at a time when the family is focused on health matters.

The King's sister, the Princess Royal, also recognized the outpouring of support recently, while attending a rugby match between Scotland and France in her capacity as patron of Scottish Rugby.
