Today, India's External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow to discuss bilateral relations. They are expected to outline agendas for future cooperation and schedule further diplomatic engagements.
Their talks will mostly concentrate on strengthening transportation, logistics, and banking channels and increasing the usage of national currencies for bilateral transactions. High-tech collaboration, including in space and nuclear sectors, Arctic and Russian Far East hydrocarbon projects, will be on the agenda.
The ministers will also exchange views on pressing global issues and international organizations, including the UN, SCO, and G20, as well as Russia's upcoming BRICS chairmanship.
Key discussions will include establishing peace in the Asia-Pacific, as well as addressing the situations in Ukraine,
Afghanistan, and the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Russia and India support a multipolar world and oppose neocolonialism, aiming to maintain global balance and engage in positive dialogue.
On Tuesday, Jaishankar and Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov explored trade and economic cooperation at the "Russia" industrial exhibition forum. They focused on enhancing trade, investments, energy, and food security and advanced industrial projects. An MoU was signed between health regulatory bodies of both nations regarding healthcare surveillance.
Earlier, Jaishankar discussed global themes with Russian strategists, highlighting the shift towards multipolarity. Jaishankar, who arrived on Sunday for a four-day tour, expressed eagerness for his engagements in Russia.
