Holocaust survivor Lily Ebert was moved by a personal letter and birthday greetings from King Charles III as she celebrated her 100th birthday.
Acknowledged for her tremendous resilience and educating about the Holocaust, she also received an MBE earlier this year. The King honored her centennial with a letter expressing the indescribable suffering she and her family faced, including the loss of her mother, brothers, and sister in concentration camps.
Once imprisoned in Auschwitz and later subjected to a death march from a Buchenwald subcamp, Ms. Ebert was ultimately rescued by an American soldier. Now a London resident, her compelling story has garnered widespread attention and millions of social media followers.
Notables like Chief Rabbi Sir Ephraim Mirvis, ex-Prime Minister
Boris Johnson, and TV host Rachel Riley also extended birthday wishes to Ms. Ebert, who continues to be a strong voice for the survivor community.
