French Authorities Continue to Consider All Theories in British Couple's Deaths
Authorities in Aveyron are looking into the violent deaths of Andrew and Dawn Searle, contemplating both homicide and murder-suicide scenarios.
French authorities are looking into the violent deaths of British citizens Andrew Searle, 65, a retired fraud investigator, and his wife Dawn Searle, 56, whose bodies were found on Thursday at their residence in Les Pesquiès, Aveyron.
Dawn Searle was discovered semi-naked outside the home, exhibiting head injuries from both blunt and sharp force, with a jewelry box found nearby.
Andrew Searle was found hanging inside the house, showing no apparent signs of defensive wounds.
Public prosecutor Nicolas Rigot-Muller mentioned that, while both individuals met violent ends, there is not yet enough evidence to determine if either death was a homicide, and that all possibilities, including a botched burglary or a domestic altercation leading to a murder-suicide, are still being explored.
The couple, who were married in 2023 and each had two children from prior relationships, had lived in the village for five years.
Family members, including Dawn’s son Callum Kerr, an actor recognized for his television performances, have requested privacy during this time.
Further details about Andrew Searle reveal that he retired in 2015 after a career in financial crime prevention at firms like Barclays in Glasgow and Standard Life in Edinburgh.
A claim by MailOnline suggesting that the couple was killed by criminals based in the UK has not been validated by French officials.
A representative from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office indicated that they are providing support to the family and are coordinating with local authorities.
