TV anchor claims it is obvious which royal made racist comment about Archie

A news presenter claimed live on air that it is obvious which royal made racist comments about Meghan and Harry’s son Archie.

Speculation has surrounded the Royal Family after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex refused to name the person behind ‘concerns’ and ‘conversations’ raised about how dark their unborn child’s skin would be when he was born.

Oprah Winfrey later told CBS This Morning that Prince Harry would not reveal the person to her but wanted to make it known that it was not his ‘grandmother or grandfather’.

The couple’s refusal to identify the person in the two-hour damning interview against the British monarchy, and the lack of comment from Buckingham Palace, has left only handful of other senior royals open to suspicion.

Australia’s Today show anchor Allison Langdon claimed that it was clear who Harry was referring to – but she refused to name them.

She said: ‘Without saying any names, if you read between the lines a little bit yesterday, I think most people are kind of leaning towards a certain royal.’

Co-anchor Karl Stefanovic questioned her reasoning and asked her to say who she meant, to which she responded: ‘Well, it’s incredibly defamatory to say so.’

‘But I don’t know who you are talking about. It could be one of four,’ replied Mr Stefanovic.

‘I just think there were enough hints that he dropped in that interview about his relationship with certain people,’ Ms Langdon continued.

Her co-anchor continued to say he had no idea who she was talking about.

Meghan said during the interview that she was told her son would be stripped of his royal title and would not be given security when he was born, before making the allegations of racism.

She told the US presenter: ‘All around this same time, we have in tandem the conversation of [Archie not being] given security, he’s not going to be given a title and also concerns and conversations as to how dark his skin might be when he’s born.’

Oprah asked Meghan – and later Harry when he joined the interview – who made the remarks but neither would be drawn on a name.

The duke said he was ‘not comfortable’ sharing their identity, while Meghan had earlier said it would be ‘very damaging’ to them if she revealed it.

Oprah told CBS This Morning following the interview: ‘He [Harry] did not share the identity with me but he wanted to make sure I knew, and if I had an opportunity to share it, that it was not his grandmother or grandfather that were part of those conversations.

‘He did not tell me who was a part of those conversations.’

Buckingham Palace is yet to respond to the interview or any of the allegations made, including Meghan saying she was refused mental health support by ‘the institution’ when she was suicidal.

Pressure has been mounting against the Palace to issue a statement and address the concerns but the Queen is believed to have asked for more time to consider the response.

According to The Times, a prepared statement had highlighted the family’s love and concern for the couple but it is yet to be signed off by Her Majesty.
