European Commissioner Thierry Breton urged
Elon Musk to increase censorship of 'harmful content' ahead of his interview with former US President
Donald Trump.
The interview will be broadcast on Musk's platform, X, on Monday night.
Commissioner Breton warned of legal repercussions if harmful content spreads during the live interview, citing Musk’s previous failure to control content during right-wing riots in the UK.
Under the EU's Digital Services Act (DSA), X is required to limit illegal content and misinformation, but is already under investigation for breaches.
Musk countered by claiming the investigation stems from his refusal to accept secret censorship agreements with the EU.
In response, Musk shared a meme telling Breton to 'f**k your own face.'
