Most health services in Guernsey will remain operational during King Charles III and Queen Camilla's visit on 16 July, despite a public holiday. Health officials said it would be unfair to cancel appointments on short notice. The visit also includes a trip to Jersey on 15 July, the first by a British monarch since 2005.
Most health services in Guernsey will run as usual when King Charles III and Queen Camilla visit on 16 July.
Despite the day being declared a public holiday, the States of Guernsey's Health and Social Care (HSC) and the medical specialist group have agreed to keep the majority of services operational.
Health officials emphasized that it would be unfair to patients to cancel appointments on short notice, although some services may still be affected.
This is King Charles III's first visit to the bailiwick since 2012, with plans for a ceremony of homage.
Patients wishing to reschedule for the celebrations should contact HSC promptly.
Any potential disruptions will be monitored and announced accordingly.
The royal couple's visit also includes a trip to Jersey on 15 July, marking the first visit by a British monarch to the island since 2005.
