UK Records Hottest Summer on Record as Climate Change Intensifies Extreme Heat

The Met Office said summer 2026 was provisionally the warmest ever recorded in the United Kingdom, with a mean temperature of 16.5 degrees Celsius and conditions made about 130 times more likely by human-induced climate change.
