Post Office Admits to Racist Language in Horizon Scandal Investigation
The Post Office has admitted that a racist slur was used to classify suspects in the Horizon scandal, which resulted in the wrongful prosecution of over 700 former Post Office staff for theft and false accounting.
The document, obtained by campaigner Eleanor Shaikh, asked investigators to categorize suspects based on racial features and used racist terms such as "N*****d Types," "Chinese/Japanese types," and "Dark Skinned European Types." The Post Office has condemned the "abhorrent" language and is supporting investigations into past wrongdoings.
