London Underground and Overground closures on October 19 and October 20

Transport for London (TfL) will be making a number of Tube stations exit and interchange only on Saturday

The London Underground is set to be heaving this weekend as a march in support of a people's vote on Brexit takes place.

Protesters demanding a final say on Brexit in the form of another referendum will be congregating along Park Lane between Marble Arch and Hyde Park Corner Tube stations at midday on Saturday.


As a result Transport for London (TfL) will be making a number of Tube stations exit and interchange only to manage crowds safely.

The restriction will apply to Marble Arch, Hyde Park Corner, Knightsbridge and Green Park from 11am and Westminster station from 2pm.

However TfL warns other nearby stations will also be exceptionally busy and may be made exit or interchange only during the day.

They include Bond Street, Oxford Circus, Tottenham Court Road, Leicester Square, Charing Cross, Embankment, Piccadilly Circus, Waterloo, St James’s Park, Vauxhall and Victoria.

Apart from the general chaos the Brexit march is set to cause on Saturday there will be a number of service closures on Saturday and Sunday affecting the London Underground, Overground, DLR, London Trams and TfL Rail.


Here are Transport for London's planned service closures for October 19 and October 20
Northern line

There will be no Night Tube service on Saturday night between Charing Cross and Edgware/High Barnet due to track improvement work.


Circle line
There will be no service between Edgware Road and Aldgate via Victoria on Saturday and Sunday due to track improvement work.


District line

Track improvement work will shut the service between South Kensington/Edgware Road and Hammersmith/Wimbledon/Kensington (Olympia) on Saturday and Sunday.

Rail replacement buses will run between Hammersmith and Wimbledon, and between Earl’s Court (Saturday)/Kensington (Olympia) (Sunday) and Wimbledon.


London Overground

Network Rail is carrying out work which will affect some London Overground services.

On Sunday there will be no service between Romford and Upminster until 10am however local bus routes 165, 248 or 370 will get you to your destination.

On the same day services between Sydenham and Crystal Palace will also be closed - rail replacement buses will run between Crystal Palace and Norwood Junction / West Croydon.


DLR

On Saturday and Sunday there will be no service between West Ham and Woolwich Arsenal due to maintenance work.

Passengers can use local bus routes 161 or 472 and rail replacement buses will run.

Tickets will also be accepted on Southeastern Railway between Greenwich and Woolwich Arsenal.


London Trams

On Sunday there will be no service between Addiscombe and Beckenham Junction/Elmers End until 9am.

A reduced service will run between East Croydon and Addiscombe due to infrastructure works - use local buses to continue your journey.


TfL Rail

There will be no TfL Rail or Heathrow Express services to Heathrow on Saturday.


TfL Rail will be operating a reduced train service between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington with trains not stopping at Hanwell due to Network Rail improvement work at Heathrow Airport.

Passengers should use the Piccadilly line for Heathrow and local bus routes.
