Germany is flying in thousands of seasonal farm workers
Despite travel restrictions meant to stop the spread of the coronavirus the German government has begun flying in thousands of seasonal farm workers. Ministers are hoping to recruit some 80,000 vegetable and fruit pickers despite travel restrictions imposed because of the virus.
The workers - most from eastern Europe - are supposed to be brought to Germany in controlled groups to prevent possible infections. They will be subjected to health check-ups and work in controlled groups.
