Fake negative COVID-19 tests are being sold in Britain

The UK began selling fake COVID-19 tests with negative results. The cost of such forged documents ranges from £ 50 to £ 150 (5-15 thousand rubles), the newspaper reported.

The publication notes that the black market has developed amid the requirements of airlines to provide a certificate of the absence of coronavirus before the flight.

The British can do a free test only if they belong to the category of employees at risk. The rest of the passengers must go to private laboratories, where testing costs can go up to £ 150.

According to the newspaper, in the city of Bradford, some craftsmen charge £ 150 for a fake certificate for travelers for urgent production, and in Blackburn – £ 50.

At the same time, the cost of official testing at London Heathrow Airport is £ 80.

The most resourceful tourists found a way to get a negative test, not only without passing the test itself, but completely free of charge, as did a resident of Blackburn, who had to fly to Pakistan. He borrowed a negative test from a friend, changed his details to his own, and presented the document before the flight.

Both private travel agents and entire companies are ready to provide such a service to clients, even if the buyer has confirmed the coronavirus.

On October 13, Roszdravnadzor sealed a clinic in Moscow, where they illegally issued certificates of the absence of coronavirus among clients.

In early October, the authorities of the capital region warned residents against buying fake COVID-19 certificates. In particular, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin warned that a fake certificate is a waste of money, since “nobody needs it.”
