Motorist fined £650 after council ‘paints disabled bay around his car
A furious motorist is embroiled in a parking row after being fined repeatedly by a south London council amid claims they painted a new disabled bay around his parked car.
A motorist in south London claimed that a local council painted a new disabled parking bay around his parked car, resulting in him receiving multiple fines.
The motorist reportedly parked his car in a regular parking bay, but when he returned, he found that a new disabled parking bay had been painted around his car, effectively trapping him in the spot.
The motorist claimed that he was not informed about the new parking bay, and that he was unable to move his car without causing damage to it or the freshly painted lines.
Despite his protests, he received multiple fines for parking in a disabled bay without a valid permit.
The council, however, claimed that the new disabled parking bay was created in response to a request from a local resident, and that they had informed all residents of the new parking arrangements.
In the end, the motorist was fined £650, for parking in a parking lot that became disabled bay after he parked there, without a valid permit.
It’s just a case of business as usual. In a conflict between justice and money, money always wins.
