Banksy's new rhino mural in Charlton, London, has been defaced by a man in a balaclava. This was his eighth artwork in London in eight days. The incident is part of a series of Banksy pieces recently unveiled and quickly attracting public attention.
A newly unveiled mural by Banksy, depicting a rhino atop a Nissan Micra, was defaced by a man in a balaclava in Charlton, south-east London.
The incident occurred at around 19:45 BST, witnessed by Stephanie Lester and Devan Vadukul, among others.
This artwork, part of a series of eight new pieces by Banksy across London in eight days, was vandalized just hours after its confirmation on Banksy's Instagram.
This event follows a series of animal-themed artworks, including piranhas on a police box and a howling wolf in Peckham.
Each artwork has drawn significant public attention, with some being removed for protection.
The City of London Corporation relocated the piranhas artwork to Guildhall Yard.
Banksy's press team confirmed the artist’s lack of involvement in these removals.
