72 Illegal Guns, 3000 Rounds Of Ammunition Seized From French Actor's Home
Police seized 72 unlicensed firearms and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition from Alain Delon's home, including a private shooting range.
The residence is located in rural Douchy-Montcorbon, roughly 84 miles south of Paris. At 88, Delon lacks permits for the firearms, stated prosecutor Jean-Cedrix Gaux.
Famous for roles as gun-wielding gangsters, particularly in "Borsalino" and the influential "The Samurai," Delon's health has declined following a 2019 stroke, amidst a growing family dispute.
A legal representative's discovery of a weapon at Delon's home prompted the police search. Although Delon has stepped back from acting and public life, he was honored with a Palme d'Or in 2019 and attended Jean-Paul Belmondo's funeral in 2021.
His family's internal conflicts surfaced publicly, with accusations of exploitation and Delon's intent to sue for defamation. Previous concerns involved a complaint against his assistant for harassment. Delon's wealth includes recent art auctions, fetching over eight million euros.
