The greatest risks for the world economy

The World Economic Forum has just published its annual Report on Regional Risks for Doing Business. Based on a survey of over 12,000 business leaders from 127 countries the report has unemployment top of the list, just like previous reports, like the one from the International Labour Organization, massive job losses due to the pandemic are expected to negatively impact business for the next 10 years.
The Report is part of the Global Risk Initiative, which aims to find sustainable solutions for global environmental challenges, and that also includes the impact of a pandemic.

Quote of the Day

“This last is important. Even in corporate environments, it is very difficult to remove an underling for incompetence if that underling has seniority and a long history of good performance reviews. As in government bureaucracies, the easiest way to deal with such people is often to “kick them upstairs”: promote them to a higher post, where they become somebody else’s problem.”
