Stacy C. Lloyd is new Director of BVI Red Cross

The BVI Red Cross welcomed Stacy C. Lloyd as its new Director in December 2019. Ms Lloyd has over 15 years experience in human resources leadership, across various industries in the Virgin Islands and USA.

She is a certified Professional in Human Resource Management (PHR), a Certified Business Continuity Professional (BCRP), and a Certified Professional with the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM-CP) and has a Master’s degree in Organisational Management with a concentration in Human Resource Management.

As Director, Ms Lloyd will be working closely with BVI Red Cross team members and the wider community to execute the organisation’s strategic objectives.

The BVI Red Cross’ five-year strategy encompasses Disaster Management; Protection, Gender and Inclusion; Humanitarian Training; Advocacy; Youth; and Health & Well-being.

Regarding her new post, Ms Lloyd said she is optimistic about the organisation’s initiatives this year, adding, “We are engaging the community to increase the awareness of what we have to offer as the British Virgin Islands Red Cross.”

Ms Lloyd continued, “We want to reach out to the most vulnerable people and communities as it relates to the disaster response. We also want to build resilience and support the health and well-being of people across the Territory, all part of our five-year strategy.

“Part of the strategy is to determine how we can best develop, grow and nurture our people, our programmes, our resources and our role as Red Cross. We’ll be doing all this to ensure we have the tools, skills and resources to deliver quality programming to those people who need it the most.”

The Red Cross Movement is a volunteer based international humanitarian organisation.

The BVI Red Cross was established in 1957, and is known in the community for the Men’s Health Fair and Prostate Cancer Screening, First Aid Training, First Aid Coverage at mass gatherings, Nurse’s Aid Training for Home Care workers, blood typing and blood donor drives, renting of medical equipment, providing humanitarian services to refugees and Thrift Shop, which sells affordable clothing and household items.
