‘Saturday Night Live UK’ Appoints Veteran Producer Lisa Clark as Commissioning Executive

Sky names Lisa Clark to help shape the first British adaptation of the iconic live comedy format ahead of its 2026 launch
Sky has appointed experienced British television producer Lisa Clark as commissioning executive for the highly anticipated British adaptation of “Saturday Night Live,” marking a significant step in the development of the landmark series.

Clark will work within Sky’s unscripted entertainment division under the leadership of Phil Edgar-Jones to help steer the production and creative vision of the series for UK audiences, blending live sketch comedy with rotating guest hosts and musical performances in the format that has defined the original show for more than five decades.

Clark brings more than twenty years of experience across the British entertainment landscape, having served as executive producer on acclaimed programmes including the BAFTA-nominated “Mortimer & Whitehouse: Gone Fishing,” “Top Gear” and “Daisy May & Charlie Cooper’s NightWatch,” as well as major live broadcasts such as the BAFTA Television Awards and Comic Relief.

Her producer credits also include cult favourites like “My Dad Wrote A Porno,” “Shooting Stars,” “The League of Gentlemen Live Again” and “Vic & Bob’s Big Night Out,” and she has held senior roles at BBC Entertainment and London Weekend Television.

Edgar-Jones said that adding Clark to the “Saturday Night Live UK” team — which already includes James Longman as lead producer, Liz Clare as director and Daran Jonno Johnson as head writer — adds a “true TV legend” whose collaborative experience with comedy talent will be a major asset to the series.

Clark herself described the opportunity as thrilling, citing her long-held passion for live television and the unique platform that “Saturday Night Live” provides for comedy.

The British version of the iconic format, produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s UK team and Broadway Video for Sky and its streaming service NOW, will retain the original show’s fast-paced live format while showcasing new comedic talent and guest stars.

Although casting, hosts and a premiere date have yet to be announced, the commissioning of Clark underscores Sky’s commitment to delivering a high-profile and culturally significant new entry in live comedy for audiences in the United Kingdom and beyond.
