Sadiq Khan approves 500 homes at Hillingdon Master Brewer site
Hillingdon Council had previously rejected the plans on the basis that the site was being overdeveloped
The Mayor of London Sadiq Khan has approved plans for a 500-home scheme on the former Master Brewer site in Hillingdon.
Designed by architects TPJ and Collado Collins, the Hillingdon scheme includes 514 homes, of which 182 will be for London Affordable Rent or shared ownership.
Organised by Inland Homes, the development will include a series of blocks up to 11 storeys high, covering a space of 2.5. hectares on the site of the former Master Brewer hotel complex.
The land is behind Hillingdon Tube station and flanked on three sides by Freezeland Way, Long Lane and the A40 to the northern end. The fourth side is neighbouring green-belt land near Ickenham.
In February, Hillingdon Council rejected the plans on the basis that the site was being overdeveloped and that it would significantly increase traffic in the local area.
The council also raised concerns about the impact it would have on the neighbouring Green Belt land and the quality of life for local residents.
