Rosewood Little Dix Bay named #1 hotel in VI

As tourism slowly revives globally, including in the Virgin Islands (VI), tourists have the option of staying at the number one hotel in the Virgin Islands and one of the top-ranked resorts in the Caribbean- Rosewood Little Dix Bay on Virgin Gorda.

The newly reopened Rosewood Little Dix Bay, the legendary island escape on Virgin Gorda, has received a Gold Badge in the 2021 US News & World Report Best Hotels rankings and was named the number one hotel and resort in the VI.

The resort was also named the number nine resort in the Caribbean, the number 14 hotel in the Caribbean and the number one resort on Virgin Gorda.

This is the resort’s first highly-regarded distinction in US News & World Report awards programing following its reopening and extensive renovation in January 2020, the resort stated in a press release on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.

The prestigious Gold Badge signifies the top ten percent of all ranked luxury hotels in their respective destination.

US News & World Report ranks the best hotels in the Caribbean based on an analysis of industry awards, hotel star ratings and user ratings. Hotels that scored in the top 10 percent of the Best Hotels in the Caribbean earned a Gold badge. Hotels that appear after ranked hotels are sorted by hotel class and then by user rating, as provided by TripAdvisor.

“We are delighted to receive a Gold Badge from the esteemed awards programme in our first year since reopening,” said Andreas Pade, Managing Director of Rosewood Little Dix Bay.

Testament to hard work & dedication

“To be recognised as the number one hotel and resort, not only on Virgin Gorda, but in the entire British Virgin Islands following our four-year closure and renovation is a testament to the hard work and dedication of every member of our team. We are so honoured to receive this designation and are pleased to be able to offer extraordinary experiences and dedicated service to each of our guests and visitors,” Pade stated.

Long regarded for its secluded stays on 500 acres of pristine private beachfront, Rosewood Little Dix Bay said it brings a new age of luxury to Virgin Gorda and the Caribbean at large.

Iconic resort

Originally founded by conservationist Laurance S. Rockefeller over half a century ago and reopened following a four-year closure and reimagination in January 2020, the iconic resort incorporates modern style "while staying true to the property’s prolific roots" as a leading example of ecotourism.

The resort added that its half-mile of beachfront property overlooking a tranquil bay, its 81 accommodations have been designed with privacy and relaxation in mind, while the property’s four dining concepts offer a dynamic gastronomic experience complemented by an unmatched ambience.

Additional amenities and services for guests to enjoy include devoted butler service, two pools with unmatched views, six tennis courts and a spa.

"Celebrated as one of the most trusted resources in the industry, this prestigious ranking evaluates and reviews more than 30,000 luxury hotel properties throughout more than 400 destinations in the United States, Europe, Bermuda, Mexico, Canada and the Caribbean, assessing both professional and guest opinion, as well as annual industry awards and star ratings," the resort stated.
