Kaja Kallas affirms the EU's position on Greenland amid U.S. President Trump's security-related claims.
The European Union's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, stated on Monday that the EU is 'not negotiating' over Greenland, following remarks by U.S. President
Donald Trump that suggested the United States should control the Arctic island for security reasons.
Speaking to reporters after an EU foreign ministers' meeting, Kallas emphasized that while the EU supports Denmark and its autonomous region, Greenland, it is not engaging in any discussions about the future of the territory.
Both Greenland and Denmark have consistently maintained that Greenland is not for sale.
Greenland's Prime Minister, Mute Egede, reiterated that the people of Greenland should have the right to determine their own future.
