Netherlands: Rioters torch vehicles in Rotterdam over plans for new Covid-19 measures
Police fired warning shots, injuring an unknown number of people, as riots broke out on Friday night in downtown Rotterdam.
The demonstration was against plans by the Dutch government to restrict access for unvaccinated people to some venues.
Riot police used a water cannon in an attempt to disperse the hundreds of rioters.
Protesters lit fires, flares and fireworks during the demonstration, and the authorities were forced to close the city's main railway station.
