Burrow was diagnosed with motor neurone disease (MND) in late 2019, two years after retiring from a 17-year career during which he won eight Super League titles.
His passing was announced by Leeds Rhinos, who hailed him as a 'true inspiration.' Awarded an MBE in 2021 for his services to rugby and MND awareness, Burrow also received the Helen Rollason Award in 2022.
He and his teammate Kevin Sinfield raised over fifteen million pounds for MND charities.
Burrow leaves behind his wife Lindsey and their children Jackson, Maya, and Macy.
