Investigation Launched Following Viral Video of Bodybuilder's Airport Prank
Preslie Ginoski is facing criticism after sharing a video of herself doing push-ups on a plane engine at Sydney Airport, leading to an official safety investigation.
Preslie Ginoski, a 23-year-old bodybuilder and fitness influencer, has faced significant backlash after sharing a video of himself doing push-ups inside a commercial jet engine at Sydney Airport.
The video, uploaded to TikTok with the caption “Quick pump before flight,” has attracted widespread condemnation for its perceived irresponsibility.
Originally filmed last year, the footage resurfaced over the weekend and quickly went viral.
Officials from Sydney Airport denounced the stunt, highlighting their strict zero-tolerance policy regarding unsafe actions on the airfield.
A representative for the airport emphasized that the safety of passengers, personnel, and operations is the highest priority, prompting an investigation into the incident.
In light of the criticism, Mr. Ginoski defended his actions, asserting that he had implemented safety measures before recording the video.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, he clarified that the video was meant to be humorous and not to be taken literally.
Mr. Ginoski noted that the plane was stationary and scheduled to remain so until the following day, and that the engine was off during the stunt.
He added that any observable movement in the engine was due to wind.
The video was recorded in June 2024, while Mr. Ginoski was working at the airport, and he posted it online after resigning from his position.
Despite his explanations, Sydney Airport continues to probe the incident, reaffirming its dedication to maintaining rigorous safety standards.
