“We would like to encourage all the persons who are 65 and over to first be administered,” Hon Malone said in a December 21, 2021, video message posted by the British Virgin Islands Health Services Authorities (BVIHSA).
He said that while persons have their choice of the AstraZeneca vaccines, “it is preferred that the Pfizer’ is now used.
“There is going to be enough doses of vaccines for everyone to participate because the United Kingdom (UK) has already said they would give to the Virgin Islands (VI) and to the other territories all the vaccines necessary for the population at bay,” the Health Minister added.
He also encouraged persons who are still hesitant to learn more, study more, and get vaccinated.
Meanwhile, Governor John J. Ranking CMG said that as of December 21, 2021, over 70 persons received Pfizer booster shots.
‘This I hope is going to be a further game-changer in helping to protect people in the territory against the worst ravages of the COVID pandemic,’ Governor Rankin said while commenting that the UK will continue supplying vaccines.
“We’ve got to find a way through this and getting your vaccinations and getting your boosters is the surest way we have in getting through this,” the Governor added.
