UK Government Announces £20 Billion Hospital Rebuilding Plan
The UK government will rebuild five hospitals that are in danger of collapsing due to deteriorating concrete infrastructure.
These hospitals were built using reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete in the 1960s to 1980s and are now in urgent need of repair.
The government will spend over £20 billion on a new hospital building program, which includes the rebuilding of these hospitals, but some trusts may be disappointed with the delay in the completion of eight other schemes.
