A white coach drawn by horses with pink head plumes carried Elianne's body, pausing for a remembrance act outside her school, Old Palace School. The emotional event saw attendees sobbing along the route.
The funeral service, held at the New Life Christian Centre, was live-streamed to the community, with a large congregation viewing the live stream from a Salvation Army building across the street due to space limitations at the Centre.
Elianne was remembered in a eulogy by her aunt Sylvia as a "remarkable and multifaceted individual" with a passion for music, friends, fashion, gymnastics, drawing, cooking, and singing.
Her aunt described her as having a "charismatic and vivacious" personality and emphasized the family's comfort in knowing she is at peace. The eulogy concluded with the words, "Rest in peace, rest in power, long live justice, long live Elianne."
The news also mentions that a 17-year-old boy has been charged with Elianne's murder and is scheduled to appear in court on 19 December.
