Claim Received for £83.4 Million EuroMillions Jackpot
A ticket-holder steps forward to claim one of the largest prizes in EuroMillions history.
A claim has been submitted for the £83.4 million EuroMillions jackpot prize from the draw on January 24, according to Allwyn, the operator of The National Lottery.
The ticket-holder, who held their ticket for 13 days prior to filing the claim, is now ranked as the 23rd largest winner in the history of the National Lottery.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at Allwyn, expressed enthusiasm over the claim, stating, "This is absolutely incredible news, and we are delighted that this jaw-dropping EuroMillions jackpot prize has now been claimed." He added that the company would support the ticket-holder through the necessary processes to ensure they can begin to enjoy their winnings promptly.
The winning ticket matched all five main numbers—02, 11, 19, 30, 49—and the two Lucky Star numbers—03 and 08. Allwyn noted that the specifics regarding whether the winner is an individual or part of a syndicate, as well as the ticket’s place of purchase, will remain confidential unless the winner chooses to share that information publicly following the validation and payment of the ticket.
While the amount is significant, it is below the highest EuroMillions jackpots ever won by UK players.
The largest recorded win was an anonymous ticket-holder who won £195 million on July 19, 2022. This was preceded by Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester, who in May 2022 won £184,262,899, and another anonymous ticketholder who claimed £177 million on November 26, 2022. The record-breaking amounts reflect the continued popularity and high-stakes nature of EuroMillions, which draws players from multiple countries across Europe.
