Another projected timeline for road town ferry terminal to be reopened to international passengers announced; march 1st, 2021, one year later

The British Virgin Islands Ports Authority in conjunction with the Premier’s Office of the Virgin Islands has issued an update on the reopening of the Road Town Ferry Terminal to international ferry passengers.
In an official press release received from the BVI Ports Authority today January 5th, 2021 it was noted that, on 7th December, 2020 a target date of 21st January 2021 was announced for the reopening of the Road Town Ferry Terminal. Only, to incoming international visitors based on the progress of the current projects at facility.

The British Virgin Islands Ports authority and the Government of the Virgin Islands have stated that they are cognizant of the constantly changing global status of the COIVD-19 pandemic which now includes a second wave that is already affecting countries.

As such their overall objective is the health and safety of the residents and visitors of the British Virgin Islands. To this end, significant adjustments to the reopening plan that are said to ensure a safe and efficient return of international ferry passengers operations at the Road Town Ferry Terminal has been mandated.

The BVI ports authority has officially notified all stakeholders that based on a projected timeline of work to be completed, the date for the reopening has been readjusted.

The cabinet of the Virgin Islands on December 30th, 2020, approved the new plan from the British Virgin Islands ports authority and adjusted timeline for the reopening of the Road Town Ferry Terminal to incoming international ferry passengers to another “Project timeline” under the theme “Ready to service’ for March 1st, 2020.

With this new timeline, the sea boarders of the British Virgin Islands to international passengers will now been closed for an entire year.
