Lancaster Gate Tube Station Closed Due to Staff Shortages, Violence and Aggression on the Rise
Tube stations in central London, including Lancaster Gate on the Central line, have been closed due to staff shortages, leading to an increase in violence and aggression from passengers.
The RMT union has called for staff to be re-hired and for TfL to tackle the issue of violence in the workplace.
The RMT also claims that there have been over 100 station closures due to staff shortages and that violence towards Tube staff has increased.
A petition has been launched calling for Lancaster Gate station to remain open.
The statement indicates that the team is addressing local issues that affect the station, working hard to keep the station open, and making progress with recruitment that was paused during the pandemic.
