The US froze Russia's assets because Russia invaded Ukraine.
The US has also frozen Afghanistan's assets because the US invaded Afghanistan.

The US proved to the world it is not safe to leave FX reserves anywhere the US can grab them. This is a sign of a failing country and it is a very big sign of a end to being a country in charge of the world reserve currency. We see now that many countries are doing trade in there own currency and now bypassing the USD. Saudi just made a deal with China on buying oil in Yuan and put the US on notice that the petro dollar is finished. Saudi also just signed a defense agreement with Russia, basically ending the defense agreement with the US, because of the 84 billion worth of arms the US left in Afghanistan which is a enemy of Saudi. When the US officially loses world reserve status Americans will not believe the inflation thatv they will face as all those USD come back to the country
