Netflix Show 'The Crown' Props Score Big At London Auction
Props and memorabilia from Netflix's acclaimed series "The Crown" fetched impressive sums at a London auction.
Highlights included a vintage 1987 Jaguar, linked to Princess Diana on the show, which sold for £70,250, and a reproduction of the iconic Gold State Coach, used in the coronation scenes, which garnered £56,280.
Another standout sale was a mock-up of the Coronation Chair which went for £25,600, while a re-creation of 10 Downing Street's facade sold for a modest £10,880.
Costumes were also high in demand, especially Princess Diana's attire, with a custom-made version of Queen Elizabeth II's coronation outfit reaching nearly £20,000 and Diana's famous "revenge" dress at £12,800.
An imitation of Diana's engagement ring almost hit £8,000. The auction concluded with online bidding later that day.
The sale, displaying hundreds of items from the set, follows a touring exhibition across major cities. Proceeds from the live auction will support a new scholarship at the National Film and Television School, as announced by Bonhams auction house.
