The family of a Polish woman who claims to be kidnapped toddler Madeleine McCann has reportedly refused to take a DNA test that could solve the mystery of whether she’s really the missing girl.
A 21-year-old Polish woman claims to be the long-lost Madeleine McCann who disappeared in 2007. But the mystery deepens as her family reportedly refuses to take a DNA test that could reveal the truth.
The woman, Julia Faustyna, has similarities with Madeleine including facial moles and a distinct brown smudge on the right iris. Despite this, her mother won't hand over a genetic sample. Private detective Fia Johansson has been representing Faustyna and believes that if any of her direct family members agree to take a DNA test, the truth could be revealed.
She has reached out to the family but they continue to refuse to cooperate. Kate and Gerry McCann have previously agreed to take a DNA test, but Johansson says it’s “not necessary” to disrupt them.
Francisco Marco, a second private detective linked to the case, has cast doubt on Faustyna's claims. However, if Faustyna’s parents simply take a DNA test, it could rule out that she is the abducted girl.
