ITV's Rageh Omaar Receives Medical Care After Unwell On-Air Incident

ITV News presenter Rageh Omaar, 56, fell ill and had to be taken off the air during the News at Ten program on ITV. He appeared to be having difficulty reading the bulletins, causing concern among viewers.
ITV confirmed that Omaar is now receiving medical care.

Omaar is the international affairs editor at ITV News and previously worked as a foreign correspondent for the BBC.

Omaar thanked everyone for their well wishes after an incident during a live broadcast, but no details about his condition or the cause of the interruption have been given.

ITV temporarily stopped re-runs of the programme on ITV+1 and asked viewers to check back soon.

Omaar's colleagues Marverine Cole and Ayshah Tull expressed their well wishes on social media.

Omaar gained prominence by reporting on the war in Iraq for the BBC in 2003.

The text is about a journalist named Omaar, who started his career in 1990 at The Voice newspaper in London.

In 1991, he moved to Ethiopia to freelance as a foreign correspondent for the BBC World Service.

In 1997, he became a BBC correspondent, working in Amman, Jordan.

Currently, he covers major news stories for ITV News and presents the current affairs program "On Assignment." Born in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1967, Omaar is the youngest of four children.

He attended Cheltenham Boys College and studied modern history at Oxford University.
